How to Make an Eye-Catching Beaded Candle Holder

Why buy a beaded candle holder at the store when you can make one at home? Use this crafty idea to turn your favorite votive candle holder (or shot glass!) into a beautiful, eye-catching, colorful display!

Things you'll need:

  • Candle holder (or clear shot glass)
  • Beads
  • Super glue or crazy glue
  • Gloves and tweezers, if desired
  • Nail polish remover

Clean your candle holder/shot glass

The beads will stick a lot better if you're starting with a clean surface.

Attach beads

You'll want beads that are translucent, so that the candlelight shines through. You can glue them on in any pattern you like - close together, far apart, symmetrical, messy-looking - it's all up to you! Careful to keep the glue to the beads and the area of the candle holder you're gluing them to - crazy glue requires an extra step to get it off your fingers! You can use gloves and tweezers to keep the glue off your hands, if you want.

Let glue dry

As your attaching the beads, let the crazy glue dry. If you try to move things around too soon, the beads may slide off. Usually holding the bead in place and blowing on it for 4-5 seconds does the trick!

Remove any gluing mistakes

If you have extra glue gumming up the process, use a little bit nail polish remover to carefully remove stains while not detaching any of your beads.

Add a candle, and enjoy!

Candle holders make great gifts, and this is an easy way to personalize them while losing fewer dollars from your pocket!
